Principal and Lead Interior Designer, Donna L. Taylor, Certified Interior Designer
"Certified Interior Designer" (CID) in the State of California means we are regulated by the Business and Professions Code of California.  Getting certified takes time, education and testing.  As they say "talent you're born with", but getting certified is an achievement.  To stay certified requires continuing education and maintaining a current association with the certification board, CCIDC (California Council for Interior Design Certification).

About Ms. Taylor:
The beginning of her professional interior design career began with a BA from San Diego State University in the Environmental Design program with an Emphasis in Interior Design.  The focus was classic and timeless furniture and architecture (all those great mid-century contemporary furniture and architectural designers...) and integration of the environment and architecture with the interiors.  Comfortable with both traditional and contemporary styles allows her to provide interior design for a wide variety of needs and style preferences.

Background:  For over 30 years, she has been the principal interior design lead for both commercial and residential design projects, managing teams of interior designers working on different aspects of each project.  With an emphasis in product research, space planning, furniture planning, and interior finish detailing, Ms. Taylor and her team build the basis for budgeting and project management.

Process: The project work embraces the entire process of design, from concept to implementation--designing, selecting and pricing the materials as well as coordinating the quality vendors and craftsman they recommend to complete the project.  Every step is planned from informal sketching to formal drawings, and from colors concepts, fabrics, lighting, and furniture to full specification packages--all the details are covered.

Teamwork:  Collaboration with other members of the team make the end result even more successful.  Our interior designers work closely with architects (landscape architects, too, especially in California with our lifestyle), contractors, and specialty craft sub-contractors to increase the quality of each of our areas of expertise and to ensure that the project goals set by the client are met and that results are are better than expected.

Experience:  Our portfolio of design work is extensive, with hundreds of clients and projects completed.  Commercial project types include professional offices, medical facilities, real estate offices, corporate headquarters, branch business offices, financial institutions, hotels, and restaurants.  Residential project types include single family homes, condominiums, vacation homes, and real estate staging properties.  We serve large scale as well as small project needs, happily...
